Rough, editable estimates for water, roads and project readiness. Built for county officials, institutions and private clients in Kenya.
Borehole water-need calculator
Estimate a community’s daily water demand and the borehole yield you would need to meet it within your pumping hours. Change any litres-per-day figure to match your county’s design standard.
Default assumptions (all editable): litres-per-day values are illustrative starting points, not official standards. Pumping hours of 8 reflect a typical solar-pumping day; use 24 for grid or generator pumping. The safety margin covers losses and growth.

- Suggested minimum yield

- Equivalent 20 L jerrycans / day

Actual yield depends on the aquifer and is only known after a hydrogeological survey and test pumping. That is the first step of every Apex Grove borehole.
Road project scoper
Work out the quantities for a road section and, if you enter your own unit rates, a first budget envelope. We don’t publish rates: use figures from your bill of quantities, a recent tender or your county engineer.
Assumptions (all editable): shoulders are surfaced with the same material; base volume = total width × length × thickness; the drainage and contingency percentages are starting values for you to set. Bridges, culverts, land and design fees are not included.

A first-pass envelope only. Ground conditions, haul distances and drainage design can move costs significantly.
