Scope

This policy applies to recruitment, terms of employment, pay, training, promotion, discipline and termination, and to how we treat clients, suppliers, subcontractors and community members.

Our Commitments

  • We do not discriminate on grounds of race, ethnicity, tribe, colour, sex, pregnancy, marital status, health status, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language, age, birth, political opinion, or any other protected characteristic.
  • We pay equal remuneration for work of equal value.
  • We make reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities.
  • We encourage applications from women in technical, drilling and construction roles.
  • We recruit from local communities near our project sites wherever practical, giving local people fair access to work and skills.

Harassment and Bullying

Harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation are not tolerated. In line with the Employment Act 2007, we maintain a clear procedure for raising complaints of sexual harassment, and all complaints are handled promptly and confidentially.

Recruitment and Development

Job requirements are based on the skills needed for the role. Selection decisions are documented and fair. We provide training and development opportunities to all staff on an equal basis.

Responsibilities

Senior leadership is responsible for this policy. Managers and supervisors must apply it consistently, and every member of staff is expected to uphold it.

Raising Concerns

Anyone who believes they have experienced or witnessed discrimination or harassment can raise it with their manager or confidentially at connect@apexgrove.ke. No one will be victimised for raising a concern in good faith. Breaches may result in disciplinary action.
